New Resorts, Heli Skiing + Lodging – Waitlist and Public Sale
erik mogensen
Indy Pass Community, I have three important updates.

1. New Resorts

We are announcing another 10 resorts this morning, including 5 in the Midwest. That means we have now added 26 new options to the 26/27 pass. This brings the current total options to 286, spanning 36 states and provinces, 14 countries, and 4 continents. I can promise you that we are nowhere near done adding resorts for next season. Doug and I will be calling, Zooming, driving, and flying to prospective areas all summer long. I am extremely excited about what is coming next for Indy. You can expect a major expansion announcement in the fall.

2. Heli Skiing + Lodging

Skiing is expensive, but we are working hard to open up more incredible opportunities and discounts with your Indy Pass.  In addition to the 3 cat skiing partners already on the pass, we have finally secured our first partnership with a helicopter operation, North Cascade Heli.  Lodging is also expensive and we will continue to expand and supercharge our lodging discount program over the summer and into next season. I believe we will get to the point where your Indy Pass discounts alone will support the economics of purchasing a pass.  We will be relentless in driving value to the pass with these types of opportunities that will make skiing and riding more affordable.

3. Waitlist and Public Sale

While we had originally planned to work our way through renewals and the waitlist pass sale over the last week of February, it actually took us much longer to get through that process than we thought. We implemented a major technology and process change in rolling out the subscription functionality. This change needed to happen, and it has set up the Indy Pass for long-term success and sustainability. The waitlist also grew at a remarkable rate during our renewal sale period. The plan to start our public sale on March 3rd ended up being a pipe dream, and our Colorado and New Hampshire customer service teams have been treading water since. Remember, we are a small team that does not outsource your emails and phone calls to overseas call centers or robots. I did not feel that we could put the pass on sale to the public while we were struggling to respond to our current passholders and waitlisters within a best-in-class timeframe. If you have not already, you can sign up for the waitlist here.

Thanks to the entire team working around the clock over the past month, we are back in a good place. We still have a large number of people on the waitlist who have not had an opportunity to purchase yet, and we will begin contacting them today. Anyone on the waitlist will have until Friday at 11AM Eastern time to complete their purchase. At noon Eastern, any remaining passes will go on sale to the general public until sold out. Demand for the Indy Pass has been unprecedented and the public sale will be over in hours, not days.

We all have a role to play in keeping skiing and riding independent.
