How it works

We’ve made it easy for you to go from curious to confident. Just follow these simple steps and you’ll be on the slopes in no time.

Step 1: Take the checklist (right above)

If you're a true beginner or it's been a while (meaning a beginner lesson would help), and you have participating resorts within driving distance, this pass is for you. Most participating resorts limited access across the resorts, since this is primarily tailored to beginner terrain. A full list of participating resorts can be found below.

Step 2: Check for Dates and Availability

Some resorts require advanced reservations ahead of your arrival, have certain age restrictions, or "blackout dates" which limit days you can visit their resort during their busier times. View the calendar below to make sure their schedule aligns with yours.

Learn to Turn FAQs

What’s included with the Learn To Turn Pass?

Your pass includes three days of beginner lift tickets, equipment rentals, and lessons — everything you need to start skiing with confidence.  The 25/26 Learn To Turn Pass is valid for the timeframe of November 2025 - May 2026 and is subject to availability when participating resorts are open. The Learn to Turn Pass comes with the following items:

  • 3 days can be used at the same participating resort, or mix of your chosen participating resorts. This pass is only valid at Indy resorts who are specifically participating in this program, which are noted here.
  • Each day includes:
    •  Lift Ticket / Lift Access - provides access to resort's beginner terrain. Ski areas offer limited access to their mountain with this ticket to beginner-focused terrain/lifts/surface lifts. Each participating mountain may provide varying levels of mountain access.
    • Lesson - Age appropriate beginner lesson lasting at least one hour, which may be a group or private lesson
    • Rental Equipment - Skis/snowboard, boots, poles and helmet

Do I have to use all three days in a row?

No — you can spread them out to fit your schedule, but you can visit the same resort 3 times if you’d like. We always recommend traveling and visiting new-to-you resorts if possible!
Be sure to check to see if your desired resort requires advanced reservations ahead of your visit.

How do I book my days?

First, check to see if your desired resort required advanced reservations. Second, make sure they are not blacked out on the days you'd like to visit. If they:

  • Require reservations: The resort will provide instructions for how to make this reservation, available starting this fall. Instructions will be listed on this page.
  • No reservations required: Just show up! We strongly recommend that you try to arrive early in the day (most ski resorts open at 9:00 am) in order to collect your ticket, rentals, and join a lesson at your chosen resort.

Can I use my pass for snowboarding instead of skiing?

Yes — rentals and lessons are available for both skiing and snowboarding.

What should I wear or bring for my first day?

Please dress to stay warm, dry, and comfortable so you can make the most of your days on the mountain. Here are some great tips!

What if the weather is bad?

Resorts operate in most winter conditions, but safety always comes first; please check with individual resorts if you have questions.

Is there a minimum age to use the pass?

The Learn To Turn Pass is for those aged 6 and up, both adults and kids.

What if I decide I love skiing — can I get an Indy Pass?

Absolutely — the Learn To Turn Pass is just the beginning of your ski journey.
Email us at [email protected] if you've used up your 3 days and are hungry for more!

Is there a physical pass?

Yes! Physical passes will ship in the fall. If you ever forget your pass when visiting a resort, that’s ok. You can present an alternative Government ID (Drivers License) instead. Don’t forget to check for reservations before leaving the house.

are lessons/rentals provided for both skiers and snowboarders?

Yep, you bet. Although you'll need to decide for yourself which path to take...
