Skiing Hall of Fame member, Walt Schoenknecht created Mohawk Mountain in 1947 nestled in the Northwest corner of Connecticut, just a short ride from New York City. Today, we remain a family business and favorite destination for generations of families to come. A great mountain for learning and experienced skiers alike, it is our goal to provide exceptional customer service as you become part of our family. Snowmaking was invented here at Mohawk Mountain in 1949 by our founder, Walt. Since that time, we have continuously invested in our system resulting in the most powerful, most efficient and most technologically advanced snowmaking in the region. The end result? The longest season in the area with a deep carpet of pure white snow.
PLEASE NOTE: Mohawk Mountain is requiring reservations for Indy Passholders on weekends. Please note, Mohawk also has a very strict no change or cancellation policy for all reservations.
